York County Community College (YCCC) holds a special place in Kathy Baker’s heart. Always having been a huge advocate for higher education, Kathy became one of the school’s first employees in 1995, when it was formerly known as York County Technical College (YCTC). She believed in the mission and the goal to provide accessible and affordable education in Southern Maine, so much so that Kathy took classes and became a proud graduate of YCTC. As an employee, Kathy was instrumental in helping raise $1,800,000 toward equipment and furnishings for the new school in Wells.

Over the years, Kathy’s relationship with YCCC deepened as she took on the role of a trustee on the Foundation Board. In this capacity, she has been instrumental in shaping the college’s trajectory and commitment, Kathy has helped secure vital resources, scholarships, and support systems that continue to benefit students from all walks of life.
